About Us

Vastutah in Sanskrit means ‘reality’. The objective of the blog is to present a real and simplified understanding of laws that maintain the functioning of society. The blog was initially started with the aim to study contemporary societal issues in relation to the respective laws that the state has enacted. Every Thursday an article regarding a contemporary socio-legal issue is posted in our blog.

Law Subject Series

To accomplish its goal of making laws simple enough for even a layman to understand, LawVastutah presents different series. These series are based on specific law subjects.

Target Audience

The different series are targets the  future lawyers, to make them understand the concept and theories behind any provisions of law, especially those which may seem simple to read on the surface, but have various facets and ingredients attached to them. They also aim to enable the revision of the theories and concepts related to different law subjects for professionals as well, in order to help them keep updated with different amendments and developments in the law.

Presently it has two active series:

Tuesday Teachings

This series seeks to explain every aspect of Indian Contract Act, 1872 with an analysis of important precedents and shortcomings in its provisions. It was started on 25th August 2020. 

Satark Shaniwar

This is a criminal law series whereby Indian Penal Code, 1860 is explained to its core. It was started on 5th September 2020.

Aayushi is a 2nd-year law student at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat. She likes to read and explore new places. She also likes to write in her free time.

Prerna is a 4th-year law student at ILS Law College, Pune. She is passionate about gender studies and she also holds a diploma in Human Rights from the Indian Law Society.  In her spare time, she can be found looking at cat videos on the internet.
